WHAT IS KATIE'S KITTIES?
Katie's Kitties is a Saturday morning animated series that ran from
1997 to 2000. It follows Katie, a bright and
fearless girl who lives in a house that keeps somehow accumulating more cats.
Nobody knows how. Not even the show's writers apparently. (Season 2 has an entire
episode about this.) Katie's mom Mama TrudyBooty does not appreciate
the situation. The cats do not care.
The show ended after Season 3 with no warning or official explanation.
The network has never commented. The fan community has never forgotten.

★ THE CATS (AND KATIE!) ★
Katie
The heart of the show. Katie zooms around in her wheelchair with her arms wide open,
ready to catch whatever cat is flying at her at any given moment. She understands the
cats in ways other people can't — or won't. She's patient and fearless and the first
one to notice when something is wrong. She always has been.
The show never explained how she ended up with so many cats.
Katie probably knows. Katie always knows.
Flare — Orange
Bright, energetic, first through every door. Flare is the loudest welcome and the
first signal that something is happening. She's warm orange and has the kind of purr
that shakes the windowsills. She might be Vinnie's sister. Nobody has asked Flare directly.
Vinnie — Orange (the other one)
The nocturnal one. Vinnie's battle cry — HAHHH-ROWWWW!! —
has been described as "the sound of someone discovering bad news at 2am." He loves
the night, he loves Katie, and he mostly tolerates everyone else. He might be Flare's
brother. He is definitely Mr. Tufts' father. (Vinnie has confirmed nothing.)
Shay 💚 — Green
The fastest. The gentlest. Shay was first to the window, first
to know when someone was coming home, first to notice when something was wrong.
She appeared in Seasons 1 and 2. Her last episode was "Shay's Last Game" (S3E04).
She didn't come back after that. The show never explained it directly.
The bridge of the theme song is dedicated to her. We miss her every day.
Some goodbyes hurt, but love can last.
Boscar — Blue-grey
The patriarch. Boscar has been in the house the longest and he knows it.
He blinks at you very slowly, like he's delivering a verdict. He naps by the front door.
Nobody moves Boscar. Not even Mama TrudyBooty. Especially not Mama TrudyBooty.
Poncho — Travels
Poncho shows up and then Poncho leaves. He always comes back eventually.
His episodes are the most mysterious ones. Where he goes between appearances
is never addressed. Katie doesn't ask. She's just glad when he's home.
CutiePi — Pink
The newest arrival. CutiePi showed up in Season 3 and was immediately
warmth and sweetness in a season that badly needed it. We love her.
She is good and pure. She does not deserve what came after. 💕
Lefty — Recurring
He's not a main cat but when he shows up the whole house knows it.
RRABBA-BODDY-HEERRRRR!! That's really all you need to know.
Mr. Tufts — Mystery
He doesn't live there. He acts like he does. He knows his way around better
than cats who have been there for years. He arrives without announcement.
He leaves the same way. He is probably Vinnie's son. He has never confirmed this.
Mama TrudyBooty
Katie's mother. She did not sign up for any of this. She would like
significantly fewer cats. She is not getting fewer cats. She loves Katie
with everything she has, which is why she has not moved them all out.
She is screaming internally at all times. We respect her.

He considers this a success and plans to continue.
S2E05 — "THE GREEN GAME" (Oct 9, 1998)

This episode is considered an unofficial farewell to the character.
⚠ S2E07 — "STATIC IN THE ATTIC" (Oct 23, 1998) ⚠
NOTE: The broadcast master for this episode is missing from the network archive.
Available fan recordings contain audio anomalies at the 22:14 mark
that do not appear in other episodes. The network described this as "experimental
sound design." Fan community analysis suggests the audio contains a repeating pattern
at an unusual frequency. The episode was quietly pulled from syndication in early 1999.
